DESCRIPTION

‘Rokero’ produces compact, small purple rosettes that look stunning in the garden and cook beautifully in the kitchen. Cooler temperatures deepen the colour, and exposure to the first frosts noticeably improves flavour—bringing out a sweeter, nuttier taste.

It’s a great dual-purpose variety: productive for autumn and early winter harvests, and ornamental enough to place in borders for a dramatic edible display.

GROWING GUIDE

  • Light: full sun, at least 6–8 hours daily

  • Soil: nutrient-rich, well-drained; pH 6.0–7.0

  • Start indoors: sow 6–8 weeks before the last spring frost

  • Transplant outdoors: when seedlings are 10–15 cm tall and frost danger has passed

  • Spacing: 60 cm between plants, 75 cm between rows

  • Watering: keep soil consistently moist, avoid waterlogging

  • Feeding: nitrogen-rich feed early for strong growth; switch to potassium-rich feeding in autumn to support cold resistance

  • Care: remove some lower leaves to encourage sprout development

  • Pest protection: use netting or natural controls against cabbage pests
