Pisum sativum
Very productive pea with fine, round seeds. It is suitable for all soil types. Sowing can start in February, for transplanting outdoors in March.Planting Schedule: Begin by sowing First Early May pea seeds indoors in February for an early harvest, or sow directly outdoors from March to early June for a harvest spanning from June to September.
Seed Depth: Plant seeds at a depth of 4-5cm.
Spacing: Maintain a distance of 3cm between individual plants, with rows spaced 30-45cm apart. Alternatively, for double rows with support, place them 60-80cm apart.
Growing Conditions: Garden peas thrive in full sun with partial shelter, planted in moist, fertile, well-draining soils with a neutral pH. If the soil tends to be overly acidic, it's advisable to lime it prior to planting.
Maintenance: Continuously harvest peas throughout the season to encourage ongoing production from the plants.
