Quadro, a medium-sized and highly productive Roma variety, was developed in Germany with a focus on late blight resistance, suitable for both outdoor and greenhouse cultivation. This indeterminate tomato plant, reaching 120-150cm in height, yields 60-100g Roma-shaped red fruits. Known for its impressive productivity and resilience, Quadro continues to produce high yields of juicy fruits late into the season. The tomatoes, slightly rounder than the popular 'San Marzano,' offer a meaty flesh and rich flavor, making them ideal for salsas, tomato sauce, and passata. Bred by Harmut Spiel as part of a Biodynamic vegetable breeding initiative, Quadro was compared to 10 other Roma tomatoes in a field trial, and its overall yield, late-season resilience, and full flavor impressed us. In colder seasons, it outperformed our favorite Roma for passata and jarring, 'Gilbertie Paste,' and exhibited better yield and disease resistance than any other Roma variety we tested.

• All farm animals are fed a 100 percent organic diet of which at least 80 percent of the feed ration for ruminants, and at least 50 percent of all other animals, must be biodynamically produced.
