DESCRIPTION

Mezdi is a strong-growing organic sweet corn variety producing tall, robust plants and large, well-shaped cobs. The kernels are very sweet and rich in flavour, making this variety an excellent choice for fresh eating during the summer season.

With a maturity period of around 90–100 days, Mezdi fits well into the main sweet corn harvest window. Its vigorous growth and reliable performance make it suitable for home gardens and larger plots alike, provided warm and sunny growing conditions.

Mezdi is an open-pollinated sweet corn variety selected for stable performance, strong growth, and excellent eating quality. As it is not an F1 hybrid, it is suitable for seed saving and well adapted to organic and biodynamic cultivation.

GROWING CONDITIONS AND CARE

Sow outdoors from mid-May once soil temperature is above 12 °C
Ensure there is no risk of night frost
In cooler regions, start seeds in modules and plant out at the end of May
Sowing depth approximately 15 mm
Row spacing 60–80 cm
Spacing within the row 20–25 cm
Choose a sunny, warm growing location
