DESCRIPTION

‘Purple Rain F1’ is a premium baby-leaf pak choi bred for colour, structure, and reliability. The thicker leaves and sturdy stems make it easy to harvest, pack, and mix, while adding bold contrast to salad blends.

Flavour is mild and fresh with a crisp bite. For fast, repeatable baby-leaf harvests, this variety performs especially well when grown in cooler conditions.

GROWING GUIDE

  • Direct sow or start in modules and transplant

  • Sowing season: spring (Apr–Jun) and again late summer (late Jul–Sep)

  • Sow depth: 0.5–1 cm

  • For baby leaf: sow a bit denser and harvest young

  • For larger plants: thin to ~15–25 cm spacing

  • Row spacing: 20–30 cm

  • Keep soil evenly moist for best tenderness and flavour

  • Grow in cool conditions; heat can trigger bolting sooner

  • First baby-leaf cut is typically around 3–5 weeks (depending on temperature and light)
