DESCRIPTION

Black Tortilla Corn is a vigorous organic heirloom corn variety producing long, thin ears filled with shiny black kernels. The kernels are soft when processed and are traditionally used for making tortillas. When mixed at a ratio of one-third black corn with yellow corn, they produce an attractive pink polenta.

This variety requires warm growing conditions and fertile soil to perform well. Harvest is carried out at full grain maturity, when the kernels are hard and the husks have dried. Its distinctive colour, traditional use, and strong growth make it a unique choice for gardeners interested in heritage crops and traditional food preparation.
