Soft green succulent. Laves have more omega-3 fatty acids than in some of the fish oils. Good for vegetarians instead of fish.Heirloom. Botanically, this herbaceous leafy vegetable belongs to the family of Portulacaceae and scientifically known as Portulaca oleracea. Other common names in place for this green leafy are pursley, pigweed, or verdolaga

Sowing Information:

  • Sowing time: From April to June, when soil temperature is at least +10 °C. Can be sown directly outdoors or started indoors.

  • Seed depth: Very shallow – seeds require light to germinate.

  • Germination: 7–14 days.

  • Growing conditions: Prefers well-drained, sandy soil and full sun. Extremely drought-tolerant.

  • Harvest: Begin harvesting tender leaves about 6–8 weeks after sowing.

Leaves appear thick and have a slightly sour and salty taste. Leaves and stems are edible. In addition to succulent stems and leaves, its yellow flower buds are also favored, especially in salads.
