Commonly used herb Asian cuisine. Leaves and stems can be used fresh or dried for their distinct lemon flavor. Makes a wonderful ingredient for hot teas. Perennial. Hight up to 3 ft.  Best grown in a container so it can be moved inside over winter.

Lemongrass is commonly taken orally, applied directly to the skin, or inhaled as aromatherapy for many different conditions. 

Lemongrass might help prevent the growth of some bacteria and yeast. Lemongrass also contains substances that are thought to relieve pain and swelling, reduce fever, improve levels of sugar and cholesterol in the blood, stimulate the uterus and menstrual flow, and have antioxidant properties.

Sow thinly on free draining compost and cover lightly with vermiculite. Place out of direct sunlight.

Sow whenever you can provide right temperature and a sunlight.

Germination is best at at 70 degrees.

Keep compost moist, not wet. 

When the seedlings are large enough to handle, plant on to individual 3” pots, grow on under cover until outside temperatures rise. 

Plants do not like cold or extremely wet weather.

Place indoors or under cover during winter.
